About Australian Labradoodles

What is an Australian Labradoodle?

By origin, a Labradoodle is  a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle.

However, an Australian Labradoodle is different:

The Authentic Australian Labradoodle has been bred down several generations with a few selective infusions, such as the Cockapoo. The Labradoodle has been carefully developed for its allergy friendly coat, the teddy bear face, the gentle friendly temperament, and the intelligence, making this a very trainable and family friendly dog.

What is a "Pedigree"?

The Australian labradoodle we breed has  a written and

certified pedigree.

A pedigree is a written list of parents, and grandparents of a dog, traceable for several generations.

All our dogs pedigrees can be traced to Rutland Manor and Tegan Park dogs.

Who are Rutland Manor and Tegan Park?

The Australian Labradoodle was first developed over 25 years ago in Australia by the two Research centers in Australia, Rutland Manor and Tegan Park. The breed was developed with carefully selected dogs, to produce allergy friendly non shedding coats. These dogs were selected not only for their coats, but also for their temparament.

The Australian Labradoodle's parent breeds are amongst the world's most intelligent dog breeds. They are easily trainable.

How did these dogs come all the way from Australia?

These dogs were originally imported from Australia into the USA.

American breeders carefully continued developing this breed, ensuring that breeding standards were met.

These dogs have now come to be recognized as highly intelligent, easily trainable, and wonderful family companions, gentle natured.

Australian Labradoodles should be distinguished from the American Labradoodles and the F1 Labradoodles;which is the First generation mix of a Poodle and a Labrador.

To become almost a purebred, this Labrador-poodle mix  has to be bred down several generations, atleast over several decades. This will not happen with a two-to-six generation labrador -poodle mix.

Australian Labradoodles are this perfect mix; they have been bred several generations down for over two decades and have achieved a great degree of conformity and beauty.

Why is the Labradoodle an excellent family dog?

Their Personality!

Labradoodles are known for their loving, and cheerful personalities.  For their love of children and other dogs.

These calm and gentle dogs make the perfect pet. They

have no aggression or nastiness in them!

They are great companions and a joy to have around. They love to please, and are great with kids. You can see their

joy, and controlled excitement each time you walk into the room.

They are eager to please, and highly intelligent; thus many of them become service dogs. Their joyous nature brings a smile to the face, and they make great service dogs!

Labradoodles are now widely used around the world as guide dogs, assistance dogs, service and therapy dogs. They are the perfect family dog!
